Hindley Karate Club

2009 is the 40th anniversary of

Sensei Billy Higgins North West Open Karate Championships.

It attracts karateka from all over Britain to compete. Being an Open Championship, it also attracts different styles of karate to compete against each other. The standards are very high regarding organisation, the referee's and judges and of course the compeditors. Without the compeditors there would be no competition and it goes to show what a popular sensei Billy is, to attract the numbers that compete and come back year after year.

Venue: Howe Bridge Sports Centre, Atherton.
